LETRAN ALUMNI LAUNCH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Letran alumni scholarship program auspiciously took off this school year. The LAA and LAFI agreed to vigorously pursue this project. Though there were students supported in the past by the alumni, this was not done on a regular basis. The last scholar on record graduated last SY 2006 and she is now working at the Office of the Rector. This time we hope and wish to do this noble effort on a sustained basis with the support of alumni members and friends and with the cooperation of the school.

Essentially, the LAA would be the entity to administer the program while the LAFI would concern itself more with the fund-sourcing and headhunting for benefactors and donors. So if you wish to help or participate in the program, please contact the LAFI or LAA. Last April the LAA sent letters to different public elementary schools but due maybe to the electoral exercise, only the school in Baseco, Port Area responded. The alumni Scholarship Committee chaired by Jose Ma. A. Aligada screened some applicants. Next year, we’ll try to do it earlier and better.
